Caterpillar Inc. introduces the new Electric
Power SpecSizer tool for generator set sizing
and specifying. Considering factors such as site
conditions, load characteristics and required
performance, SpecSizer provides accurate and
timely technical data, robust load models and
optimized algorithms to assist in the selection
of a competitively sized generator set that best
suits a customer’s needs.
Building on the proven success of preceding
Caterpillar® generator set sizing tools like
Design Pro, SpecSizer delivers enhanced
performance and reliability. Several new
features set it apart as a revolutionary tool in
generator set sizing, including its ability to
evaluate load types such as air conditioners,
elevators, ultraviolet lights, single-phase NEMA
and single-phase IEC motors.
SpecSizer employs an Internet-based auto-
update capability to synchronize the program’s
generator set data with the most current
technical data for Caterpillar Electric Power
products, including new generator set product
information. The Application Wizard collects
data on the user’s loads, then organizes it into
steps – considering voltage dip and load
demands – to assist in selecting the most
competitive generator set size in terms of both
rating and footprint.
